Angel Fire was painted during Sunday morning church services on May 19 and May 26, 2013 and finished in the studio July 22, 2013. It is based on the scriptures of Psalm 104:4 and Hebrews 1:7.
Psalm 104:4 “Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:”
Hebrews 1:7 “And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.”
There have been a lot of misconceptions over the years about angels. I don’t claim to be an expert, nor have I ever seen an angel, however, I have sensed their presence. When people die, they do not turn into angels, as many believe. Angels and humans are two different classes of created beings, created by our Creator, Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus created everything. John 1:3 and John 1:10. In fact, humans are created in the image of God, not angels! Genesis 1:17. We are not to worship or pray to angels either. God wants us to worship and pray only to Him, for He alone is God. Jesus instructed us to pray to our Father, not angels.
Angels were created to work for God and minister to people needing help. They function like the military, with different ranks, classifications, and duties. Angels are spiritual beings and never die. They have been around before the creation of our world, but, they had a beginning, like we had. God has existed forever, outside of our time and space. It is very hard for us to comprehend the spiritual world, but it is more real than our physical one.
Angels operate in the spiritual and physical realm to help God and humanity and obey God’s orders. When God set up this world, he gave dominion to mankind. Through disobedience and sin, Satan took over, becoming the god of this world, 2 Corinthians 4:4. That’s why there is so much evil and heart ache! Satan came to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came to give us an abundant life. When we become born again, we get our authority back because we give ourselves to God! When we pray according to God’s Word, the angels go to work to carry out our prayers, like a soldier’s orders. They honor and obey God’s word. We should too!
Psalm 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word.
