This was done by dropping acrylic ink on watercolor paper and then spraying water on the ink and allowing the ink to flow where it wanted to. Of course I could tip the paper, blow on it, or manipulate it in some way to adjust the course of the flow. Before the ink dried, I put saran wrap over the wet ink and crinkled it up. I removed the saran wrap and looked at it to see what it turned out as.
I decided it looked like a poinsettia flower, so I drew outlines around it, to make it stand out more and painted a little here and then to accentuate the leaves, etc. A lot of art is just playing and experimenting, manipulating the mediums to see what they can do.
