ANGEL DANCE
August 18, 2013 was a special day at my church, because our worship leader was being ordained into the ministry. As usual, I was waiting in my area at the back of the church and wondering what the Lord would show me to paint. I forgot to bring a blank canvas with me to church, and all I had was a painting that I had already started earlier. I didn’t like the way it turned out, so I decided to paint over it. As the service started I began painting swirls to cover up the other unfinished painting and pretty soon it began to take on a life of its own. As I listened to the music, one of the songs was about dancing. I decided to make a person dancing before the Lord. With all the swirling brush strokes, it was beginning to look like wings, so I made it into an angel.
After church, a man stopped by to look at it and was shocked to see that it looked just like an angel that he literally saw descend down and touch the worship leader’s shoulder as she began to preach. He literally saw the angel that I was painting. He said the angel was in the same position that I painted, although my colors were different. I paint in the back of the church, and he was sitting in the front. I never talked to him before that time and neither of us knew what the other experienced during church. Unknowingly, I was painting the angel that he saw. We were both amazed. God was confirming her ordination into the ministry and sent an angel to her. Many times I paint something and later find scripture that goes with the painting. I believe Exodus 23:20 fits this story completely.
Exodus 23:20 Behold, I send an angel before thee, to keep thee by the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared.
Hebrews 1:14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Ps 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
Psalm 30:11 Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; 12 To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever!
