CHRISTMAS FLOWER: original painting
This was done by dropping acrylic ink on watercolor paper and then spraying water on the ink and allowing the ink to flow where it wanted to. Of course I could tip the paper, blow on it, or manipulate it in some way to adjust the course of the flow. Before the ink dried, I put saran wrap over the wet ink and crinkled it up. I removed the saran wrap and looked at it to see what it turned out as. I decided it looked like a poinsettia flower, so I drew outlines around it, to make it stand out more and painted a little here and then to accentuate the leaves, etc. A lot of art is just playing and experimenting, manipulating the mediums to see what they can do.
Isaiah 7: 14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son,
and shall call his name Immanuel. (meaning God with us.)
