The original painting is an acrylic painting mixed with the actual ashes from the fire that burned down the harp workshop of Harrari Harps in Israel, north of Jerusalem. I gave the original painting to the Harraris. Out of the ashes, comes the hope of new life through faith in God.

L'CHAIM: note cards
L’ Chaim
This painting was made as a fundraiser and dedicated to Micah and Shoshanna Harrari, whose harp workshop was destroyed in a forest fire on August 15, 2021 that burned over 6000 acres north of Jerusalem. Harrari Harps have been making Biblical style harps since 1984 in Israel. Micah Harrari is thought to be the first Jewish harp maker back in Israel, since Bible times. They have been making harps for the Temple Institute in preparation for the third temple and the coming Messiah.
The acrylic paint used for this painting is mixed with the actual ashes from the Harrari Harp shop. Out of the ashes, comes the hope of new life through faith in God.
“To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.” - Isaiah 61:3
The painting is full of spiritual symbolism. The roots of the old tree form the Hebrew word, L’Chaim, which means “To Life”. A harp, brook, lyres, doves, deer, national bird of Israel called a hoopoe, trees, national flower called Cyclamen Persicum, hills, sunrise, sun rays, and porcupine inspire hope and new life through faith in God.
“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises! Awake, my glory!
Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.” Psalm 57:7-8
When I learned about the fire that destroyed the Harrari’s shop, I wanted to help by doing a painting with the ashes from their shop and offering prints to help raise funds to rebuild the Harrari’s Harp Shop. All profits go directly to Shoshanna and Micah Harrari. Prints can be ordered through NancyCupp.com.
I am a psalmist and painter from Ohio. I have owned a 22 string Nevel Harrari harp since 1995 when the Lord answered my prayers for a harp like King David had. I made an album of healing scriptures and harp music called “Healing Words From His Holy Word” available at NancyCupp.com.
